Virginia Beach - Lt. Col USAF (Ret.) Chaplain William "(Billy") Cuthriell, Jr., 82, Virginia Beach, passed away on 28 Oct. 2012 following an accidental fall and injury on the head at Atlanta Airport Sunday morning.

He was born in Deep Creek, Va.. Son of William Mitchell and Portia Cuthriell. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Millie, daughter Cathy Nulph and husband Brad, daughter Christine Oldham Cuthriell, son Mitchell III wife, Kristin Cuthriell, six grandchildren; Nick, Holly, Brock Nulph, Marley Oldham, Keri and Mitchell Cuthriell three great-grandchildren; Madison, Maddox Nulph, Stryker, Squire, sister Carol Rebecca Lewis, brother Bryan Lee Cuthriell as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear, dear friends.

Bill retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1979. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal three times, Executive Director of Chesapeake Volunteer in Youth Services 1987-1998 with outstanding Court Volunteer programs in the U.S.A awarded by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. Current and past President of the Air Force Association, Sunday school teacher, teller committee, usher at Kings Grant BC, active Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake, volunteer of Chesapeake free clinic, and Wellington Woods Civic League.

A memorial service will be held at the Kings Grant Baptist Church Sun. at 4 p.m., 4 Nov., visitation will be from 3-3:45 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to JAFROTC Scholarship Found AFA Chapter 242 mail to: Col. (USAF Ret.) Robert Hudson 3113 Lynnhaven Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23451, (please make check out to AFA Ch. 242 JAROTC).
