For years it has been said by researchers-including Dr Pritchett's CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS-that Pvt Allen J Wright,his wife Elvira J Bowen Wright; his brother Pvt Charles W Wright and wife Georgianna C Bowen Wright; were buried on a hill behind Astrop's Mill, near Brodnax,Va. I recently discovered an obituary for Allen that gives his burial location as the old family lot at his homeplace.
If you have any info on where the old family homeplace near Brodnax is located, please contact me. Until then, this cemetery probably includes many more people. Silas and Candis Wright had the homestead before Allen, my great grand father George Drummond Wright was there in 1900 with his mother Elvira, then moved with his wife to Mecklenburg Co, then on to Hopewell,Va. I don't know when the farm left family hands,or if it did.
